Surrey are currently 130/2 – still behind but in with a chance. Scott Newman is on 82 not out, and he is with Usman Afzaal who has recently come to the crease in place of Laurie “Cannon Fodder” Evans. Coming up to parity with 8 wickets in hand is all well and good, but Surrey need to be posting a lead of well over 200 and to do that Newman must make a big one. A plenty big one.
